About RAWW

Art and love are the same thing: It’s the process of seeing yourself in things that are not you.

What We Do

Since 2017, the Association has started organizing various small-scale events in Gherdeal, alongside its activities in Bucharest.

Among the most significant events of recent years are those organized under the Venetic brand, in partnership with the Minimorum Association, in the village of Gherdeal and its surroundings. The Venetic initiative proposes a reflection on the role of the artist in the contemporary world, in relation to communities (of any kind), to the idea of audience, and to the need for a common language specific to cultural experience.

Focusing on music and sound art, Venetic has become a space for supporting local artistic creation. The 2022 edition of the Venetic Festival managed to bring together more than 150 participants in two Saxon courtyards, alongside bands such as Trei Parale and the Radu Vâlcu Quintet jazz group. The edition also included a contemporary dance performance and well-known national DJs such as Bogman, Mihai Dobre aka Dobrică, Corvin & Buniku, and Vlad Mihăescu aka DJ Lejer.

The event succeeded in gathering a large number of partners who contributed to its success, both through promotion and through concrete support. The partnership with Studioset Production, one of the most renowned production houses in Romania, delivered an exceptional “after-movie” after each festival edition, reaching over 1,000 people through social media.

The third and fourth editions of the festival offered the public exceptional performances by Țărfu’ de la Vărbilău, Tumbe, Elven Bird, Radu Vâlcu in Flow, Mara Halunga, DJ Vasile, and Rhadoo.

Who We Are

The RAWW Association for Cultural and Artistic Promotion aims to support and encourage Romanian artists who distinguish themselves through originality and boldness. RAWW has stood out through conceptual exhibitions and events held in unconventional locations (palaces, villas, terraces), with the main goal of promoting artists as efficiently as possible, in an environment where all participants feel fulfilled.

Among the projects carried out, we mention the organization of two group exhibitions in Berlin, Germany, in 2015 and 2016, with over 300 visitors per exhibition. These projects culminated with the Association’s participation in the Berliner Liste Contemporary Art Fair in 2016, an event bringing together more than 112 exhibitors from 25 countries and over 10,000 visitors. At this fair, the Association had its own booth, where it exhibited five contemporary Romanian artists.
